The checkerboard print that was kindly bought to our attention by the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 show and has certainly been a big hit with high street stores and the red carpet. I remember when Kristen Stewart rocked this chic Louis Vuitton playsuit to a photo call in Tokyo, Japan whilst promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. I’m unsure of how much it costs, but this Lavish Alice checkerboard print playsuit is a much more affordable version, whatever the price! The Lavish Alice brand, available at ASOS.com, is all about bold prints, bright pops of colour and clean lines for “fierce and unique girls”.

Three Things Thursday

After deliberating between several dresses to wear to my friend’s birthday bash, I finally decided on the Mango maxi dress. I love its dramatic and glamorous appeal, and the thigh high split just gives it that… je ne sais quoi. I also picked up this pretty little cherry floral diary from Paperchase as I was in desperate need of something to put my life back in order since returning from Disney in March. I much prefer the traditional quirks and qualities you get with a real diary, as opposed to an iPhone calendar. Zara seems to bring out an affordable staple shoe quite regularly, and these studded sling back shoes are the latest. They come in black, sand and coral and have cool mini studs on the heel. I first noticed the series of basic Zara heels a couple years ago when the cult classic asymmetric pumps and ankle strap sandals first hit our shelves.

Remember these? Of course you do. Everyone and their mother bought these shoes. I learnt from my mistakes (not purchasing either when I could and later finding that they had sold out) and snapped up the sling backs the moment I saw them. I’ll probably go back and buy the other two colours next time – if they’re still available.

I Love Monday

As a close friends 21st birthday celebration approaches, a new dress is definitely on the cards. I am in love with 1940′s burlesque fashion and these dresses are my favourite picks for a modern take on that timeless glamour. Blacks, reds and nudes go hand in hand with the pin-up look, which is why I’m drawn to these nine in particular. I’m having a hard time deliberating between them because I really want them all! Why do I always feel the need to buy another frock for every new upcoming social occasion?

How To Tuesday

how-to-tuesday-2013-05-13-fruit-smoothie

This is quite possibly the easiest ‘how to’ ever. The hardest part is choosing what delicious ingredients to use! I’ve decided on a banana, strawberry and blueberry smoothie, with vanilla yoghurt and fresh orange juice for blending. Other options you could try are cherry and almond, avocado and banana, blueberry and pomegranate, kiwi and melon, ginger and mango, pineapple and coconut and even a PB&J shake! Try adding a teaspoon of honey to the fruit based smoothies for added sweetness. What’s your favourite combo?

  1. Chop up a handful of each washed fruit into large chunks, two or three choices is good
  2. Add the fruit to blender with a whole banana, two cups of fresh orange juice and a large dollop of vanilla yoghurt
  3. Blend thoroughly for silky smoothness
  4. And finally; slice a strawberry for a posh cocktail garnish!
